India develops 14500 car battery that can be fully charged in 15 minutes

According to overseas media reports today, an Indian technology company called Gegadyne Energy announced a battery research and development result today. The new battery can fully charge electric vehicles (EVs) in 15 minutes. The technology has been patented and may be commercialized in 2020.

As the main power source for electric vehicles, traditional lithium-ion batteries have problems such as high cost, slow charging speed and short life. These problems have seriously affected the promotion and development of electric vehicles. Gegadyne Energy recently announced that the electrostatic charge storage and fast Faraday kinetic reaction technology they use can solve the shortcomings of traditional lithium-ion batteries. Ameya Gadiwan, chief technology officer of Gegadyne Energy, added that the research on this battery is mainly to replace existing batteries, and the new battery will be mainly provided to electric vehicles in the form of cylindrical, soft pack and square.

According to the news released by Gegadyne Energy, they are currently developing new battery prototypes and battery packs, which will be inspected by a third party and will be trial-produced in small batches within the next 12 months. The battery pack costs about the same as traditional lithium-ion batteries, but has a cycle life about 50 times longer than traditional batteries and charges faster, fully charging an electric vehicle (EV) in 15 minutes.
