The core battery technology of new energy vehicles. At present, the mainstream lithium 16340 battery on the market are mainly traditional cobalt-acid lithium 16340 battery. Even the ternary lithium 16340 battery used by Tesla actually contain cobalt. But you may not know that the world's proven cobalt reserves are only more than 7 million tons, and the reserves of the three countries of Congo (DRC), Australia and Cuba account for 70% of the world's total reserves. Among them, Congo (DRC) accounts for half, so every time there is any social instability in this country, the price of cobalt will rise sharply.
China's cobalt reserves are very small, accounting for only 1% of the world's total reserves, so the price is subject to others. Therefore, it is very urgent to find battery technology that does not use cobalt and can improve the energy density, power density and wide applicable temperature of lithium 16340 battery.
One of these opportunities is the graphene battery that has been hyped in recent years. Now, both in the United States and in China, a lot of energy, manpower and material resources have been invested in the commercialization exploration of graphene 16340 battery.
