Recently, at the first high-end forum of the China Electric Vehicle Hundred People's Forum, Xu Daquan, executive vice president of Bosch (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Bosch), said that it will take time for automobile electrification, and my country's power batteries urgently need to break through technical bottlenecks and realize standardized production of power batteries.
Xu Daquan said that in the past few years, Bosch has invested 3 billion yuan each year in automobile research and development, mainly in battery research and development.
At present, the specific energy of batteries plus electric motors is not enough to replace engines. Taking the specific energy of electric vehicles as 200 watt-hours per kilogram as an example, after conversion, considering all heat consumption, gasoline is nearly 2,000 watt-hours per kilogram, which is ten times the difference between the two. It can be seen that electric vehicles are still a long way from traditional vehicles.
Talking about the current status of domestic power batteries, Xu Daquan said that in my country, lithium battery technology still lags behind Japanese and Korean companies, and there are still many technical problems that need to be overcome. As one of the battery suppliers, Bosch is also actively investing in related research and development work.
Xu Daquan said that the key to power batteries lies in battery packs, that is, battery group management. At present, 54% of the batteries used by my country's OEMs are from subsidiaries of the company or joint ventures with battery companies, and the battery processes of various manufacturers are different, which is a challenge for suppliers.
Finally, Xu Daquan pointed out that how to achieve standardized and normalized production of power batteries in the future and how to achieve the electrification of automobiles require all companies in the industry chain to jointly explore solutions.
