What are the packaging materials and processes of CR2430 battery?

 

Soft-pack lithium-ion batteries are generally packaged in two ways: forming packaging and non-forming packaging. Forming packaging is a box-type packaging method. This packaging method first punches the packaging material into a box shape. The depth of the box depends on the battery. Since the aluminum foil and other composite materials extend and flow during the forming process, this requires a high peel strength of different composite layers to prevent delamination during the forming process, and the aluminum foil will become thinner during the extension process. Generally speaking, the forming depth of a 40um thick aluminum foil should not exceed 4mm, and the thickness of the aluminum foil after forming should not be less than 30um. Since the non-forming packaging method does not extend the material, the requirements for ductility and thickness of the aluminum box are relatively low.

 

The heat sealing process parameters of soft-pack lithium-ion battery soft packaging materials are important heat sealing time, heat sealing pressure and heat sealing temperature. Generally, the application of new packaging materials requires these three parameters to be readjusted to achieve the best heat sealing effect.

 

The best heat sealing time and heat sealing temperature for soft-pack lithium-ion battery soft packaging materials. If the heat sealing time remains unchanged, the best heat sealing pressure can also be found by changing the pressure. Of course, we cannot only pursue heat seal strength. On the basis that the heat seal strength can meet the requirements, considering the influence of heat radiation and heat conduction on battery performance, the shorter the heat seal time, the better, and the lower the heat seal temperature, the better. Most of the heat seal strips of current flexible packaging materials are in the form of concave and convex molds, and the tabs are in the form of rubber blocks. The concave and convex molds control the heat seal effect by controlling the thickness of the packaging material after heat sealing. By controlling the thickness, it is possible to prevent the tabs from contacting the aluminum foil due to excessive pressure and causing short circuits, thereby effectively controlling the heat seal effect. First, the rubber block is attached to the tab. The rubber block material is generally the same as the inner layer material of the packaging material. During heat sealing, the part of the rubber block that contacts the tab does not melt, which not only maintains the original peel strength, but also prevents short circuits. The outer layer of the rubber block and the packaging material are heat-sealed together. Since they are made of the same material, the heat seal effect is very good.
