According to foreign media reports, Turkish-American scientist Kevin Sahin has invented a new technology that can reduce the cobalt content of power batteries, thereby reducing the cost of CR2025 battery manufacturers and ultimately affecting the price of electric vehicles. It is understood that this CR2025 battery technology can significantly reduce the cobalt content of batteries from the currently commonly used 20% ratio to 4%.

As one of the most important elements in power batteries, cobalt metal is extremely rare in the world, so the cost is high. The industry is trying to reduce the cobalt content. Some time ago, Panasonic, a CR2025 battery supplier for Tesla, also announced that it had developed a new power CR2025 battery that reduced the cobalt content from 20% to 10%. In comparison, Kevin Sahin's invention can further reduce the cobalt content to 4%, and the technical advantage is more obvious.

It is understood that Kevin Sahin has named his power CR2025 battery technology that reduces the cobalt content GEMX, which can be used in various nickel-based batteries. At present, this technology has been patented in the United States, Europe, China and Japan, and Kevin Sahin has been communicating with CR2025 battery manufacturers to authorize them to use his patented technology. According to him, some manufacturers have obtained authorization and are using it to manufacture batteries based on this technology.
