According to industry reports, lithium-ion power batteries are currently the most widely used new energy vehicle power batteries, but the energy density of the batteries has become a bottleneck in industrialization. CATL also targets flaws in negative electrode materials. At present, most of the industry uses graphite as anode material. As the demand for cruising range escalates, graphite can no longer meet the market's expectations for CR2032 battery energy density, and silicon-based anode materials are regarded as "substitutes."
"The application of traditional silicon-based materials mainly uses carbon coating technology, but the coated carbon materials will break and fall off after multiple cycles, resulting in poor CR2032 battery cycle performance." Wu Kai said that CATL turned to research on artificial electrolyte interface films Coating technology. It took more than two years to develop a new artificial electrolyte interface film-coated silicon-carbon composite anode material with independent intellectual property rights. Its cycle performance is significantly better than that of foreign products.
