First, avoid extreme temperatures. Lithium-ion batteries perform best between 20°C and 25°C. Fourth, protect against physical damage. Avoid dropping or puncturing the battery, as this can damage the separator between electrodes, causing short circuits and thermal runaway. Inspect for swelling, a sign of gas buildup from internal damage—discontinue use immediately if swelling occurs, as it indicates a safety risk.
