The lithium Manganese dioxide battery uses Manganese dioxide treated by special process as the positive active material, and the metal lithium with high potential and high specific energy as the negative active material. The electrolyte adopts organic electrolyte solution with good conductivity. The battery structure has two forms: fully sealed and semi sealed. Of course, the safety and shelf life of a fully sealed product are better than those of a semi sealed product.
The negative electrode of lithium Manganese dioxide battery is metallic lithium, and the active material of positive electrode is Manganese dioxide. The electrolyte is the inorganic salt Lithium perchlorate (LiClO4), which is dissolved in the mixed organic solvent of propylene carbonate (PC) and 1,2-dinenenebb methoxy ethane (DME). Its chemical expression is:

The reaction mechanism of lithium Manganese dioxide battery is different from that of ordinary batteries. In non-aqueous organic solvent, lithium ions dissolved in anode lithium migrate into the lattice of MnO2 through electrolyte, and generate MnO2 (Li+). Mn is reduced from+4 valence to+3 valence, and its crystal structure remains unchanged.

Lithium Manganese dioxide battery is the cheapest and safest type of lithium series primary battery. The open circuit voltage is around 3.3V, the load voltage is 2.8V, the nominal voltage is 3.0V, and the cut-off voltage is 2.0V. The discharge voltage is relatively stable and suitable for high-power discharge.
