The short circuit of the battery is a severe problem: chemical energy stored in the battery will be lost in the form of thermal energy, and the equipment cannot be used. How is the battery short circuit?
The battery can convert the storage chemistry into electrical energy. When working normally, the two electrodes of the battery will generate electrochemical response and anode oxidation response. During the discharge process, the positive pole is 0.10-600, and the negative extremely positive pole; the polar character in the charging process is the positive pole, the negative extremely negative electrode.
One electrode releases the electrons to the circuit, and the other electrode is obtained from the circuit. It is this favorable chemical response that drives the current in the circuit, so any device, such as a motor or bulb, can obtain energy from the battery after connecting to the battery.
The so -called short circuit is the circuit that does not flow through the electrons through electrical equipment, but acts directly between the two electrodes. The chemical response of achievements is accelerated, the battery starts from self -discharge, and chemical energy is lost without any useful work. During short circuits, excessive current can cause battery resistance to heat (scorched ear heat), which may damage the device.
The mechanical injury in the battery is one of the causes of short circuit. If there is a metal foreign body piercing the battery pack, or the battery pack is kneaded and damaged, it will constitute an internal conductive pathway and constitute a short circuit. "Acupuncture test" is the standard safety test for lithium ion batteries. During the test, a steel needle will pierce the battery and make it short -circuit.
