How to use lithium batteries for robotic vacuum cleaners correctly

We are now living in a new era of intelligence, where intelligent products are distributed in every corner of our homes. Today, we will talk about vacuum cleaners. The original intention of inventing vacuum cleaners is to help us clean the dust on the floor of our homes. But with the development of technology, the progress of sweeping robots in technology is also very significant, providing people with convenience while also leaving many people amazed.

  Sweeping robot, also known as intelligent vacuum cleaner or robot vacuum cleaner, is generally a robot that can complete cleaning, vacuuming, and mopping tasks. They can all be collectively referred to as sweeping robots. The intelligent sweeping robot can automatically complete the floor cleaning work in the room with a certain degree of artificial intelligence. It uses brushing and vacuum methods to absorb ground debris into its own garbage storage box, completing the floor cleaning. How does it work? It mainly involves scanning the overall size of the room, creating a fixed layout map of the room in the robot's microcomputer, including the size of the room, the arrangement of furniture in the room, etc., and then developing a work plan through a satellite positioning system.

  The sweeping robots are designed to be wireless due to their irregular and unrestricted operations in the area. This requires a "lithium battery" to supply it with electricity to maintain normal operation. The sweeping robot has particularly high requirements for "lithium batteries", so now the upgraded version of the sweeping robot basically uses "polymer lithium batteries" because polymer lithium batteries are relatively safe, lightweight, and have high voltage. With the same volume, their energy density is much higher than nickel hydrogen batteries and lead-acid batteries, and there is no charging and discharging memory effect, Charge as you go, with a lifespan of over 700 times.

  Although the "lithium battery" of the sweeping robot has high capacity and long cycle life, improper use of lithium batteries can reduce the service life and capacity density of lithium batteries. When using lithium batteries for sweeping robots, the following points should be noted:,

  1、 Do not over discharge

  The lithium-ion battery discharge platform has a certain amount of time, which depends on the power of the robot. If the robot continues to work and runs out of battery when it has 20% remaining lithium-ion battery power, it will cause excessive discharge of the lithium-ion battery, which often reduces its service life. Replacing a lithium battery on a typical robot is quite expensive, so it is important to maintain it properly in daily life.

  2、 Use the manufacturer's original charger

  A dedicated lithium-ion battery charger should be used for charging lithium-ion batteries. The charging of lithium-ion batteries adopts the CC/CV method (constant current+constant voltage), which means that the charging is first carried out with a constant current. When the voltage reaches 4.2 V * n, it switches to constant voltage charging until the current decreases to 0.01C and the charging stops.

  3、 When not in use for a long time, the lithium battery should be charged to 95% before being stored and cannot be left empty

  The storage, transportation, and shipment of lithium batteries are all in a half electric state, with a voltage of approximately 3.83V. Full charge (4.18-4.19V) is prone to safety accidents, and polymer lithium batteries with soft packaging may experience gas inflation. A dead state (below 3.0V) causes significant damage to the battery and severe lattice collapse of the electrode material.
