Modern chargers use microcontrollers (MCUs) or digital signal processors (DSPs) to communicate with the battery’s BMS (Battery Management System) via protocols like SMBus or CAN bus, exchanging data such as state of charge (SOC), cell voltage, and temperature. Overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), and overtemperature protection (OTP) prevent damage if communication fails or the battery is mismatched. Universal input (100–240V AC) and multiple output ports further enhance versatility, allowing the charger to work globally and charge multiple devices. By integrating smart communication, adaptive output, and robust safety mechanisms, lithium battery charger compatibility design ensures reliable, safe charging across a wide range of lithium-ion batteries.
