A thermal fuse is a component that melts when the temperature inside the battery reaches a certain level due to the short circuit, effectively cutting off the electrical connection and stopping the short-circuit current. Additionally, the use of flame-retardant materials in battery casings can help prevent the spread of fire in case of thermal runaway caused by a short circuit, enhancing overall safety.
