The new nano battery technology designed by researchers recently can play a role in increasing the battery life of electric vehicles by three to five times.
This technology was originally proposed by Norwegian R&D experts from the Institute of Energy Technology. Through their technology, the range of electric vehicles on a single charge will reach more than 1,000 kilometers, and the application scope of this technology is not limited to electric vehicles. In the future, it can also be realized on laptops, smartphones, and tablets, which is expected to increase the battery life of these devices exponentially.
So what technology can enable 12V23A battery to achieve such a large-scale performance improvement? According to Business Insider, the answer lies in the properties of silicon and nanotechnology. Silicon can hold more charge than graphite, which is common knowledge that battery manufacturers have always known, but due to technical obstacles, it is difficult to create a battery mixture composed of silicon. Even if the battery is successfully manufactured, it will soon break and collapse.
In response to this situation, the Norwegian R&D team used nanotechnology to maximize the silicon content, increase the proportion of silicon material to graphite inside the battery, and minimize the breakage rate. Although we are not sure how far the R&D team has developed it now, it is certain that the R&D personnel have made a clear intention to promote this technology to the market soon, but we can't get too excited too early. Even if the technology successfully passes the commercialization test, it will take several years to mature, and technology companies will also need a lot of time to deploy it in their own equipment designs.
