  Charging method of new 14500 battery

  The charging method of new 14500 battery is different from that of old 14500 battery. Correct charging of new 14500 battery can increase the capacity of new 14500 battery and prolong its service life. The correct charging method is as follows:

  1. Clean the battery and the electrode column, unscrew the filling hole cover, and open the vent.

  2. Slowly add electrolyte with a specific gravity of 1.28 into the battery. The liquid level should be kept 10-15 mm higher than the plate.

  3. After the 14500 battery is filled with electrolyte, leave it for 6 hours to let the electrolyte penetrate the plate.

  4. Charging is carried out in two stages: Stage 1. The charging current is 7-8% of the capacity. Charge until the 14500 battery voltage rises to 2.4 volts. The time for bubbles to begin to appear is 26-30 hours. In the second stage, the charging current is half of the first stage, and the charging time is 22-30 hours. After charging, it is found that the voltage of the single-pole 14500 battery is 2.5-2.75 volts. The charge boils within 2-3 hours of charging, and the voltage and electrolyte specific gravity remain unchanged.

  5. After charging, 2-3 charge and discharge treatments should be performed. When discharging, connect a resistor, and discharge the battery by 10% of the capacitance basin. When the discharge voltage drops to 1.7 volts, charge it according to the above charging method. Repeat this process to make the capacity reach more than 80%.

  6. At the end of charging, adjust the specific gravity of each single cell electrolyte to make it equal. If the liquid level drops, add electrolyte to the specified height. During charging, if the temperature exceeds 45℃, the charging current should be reduced. If the temperature continues to rise above 55℃, suspend charging. Wait until the temperature drops below 3590 before charging.
