Therefore, it plans to counterattack with the participation of large automakers such as Toyota. Fujii Eiji, director of Panasonic's Resources and Energy Research Institute, emphasized that "as a battery manufacturer, we must not lose to overseas companies in the field of all-solid batteries."

Toyota is the leader in development. Toyota strives to put all-solid batteries into use in the first half of the 2020s. Toyota's number of all-solid battery patent applications ranks first in the world. There are about 300 developers, an increase of about 50% from the fall of 2017. At a press conference on June 15, Hideki Sekiya, director of Toyota's battery materials technology research department, said, "We have made great progress in development and hope to promote practical application at all costs."
