About the development of new liquid-filled CR927 battery for electric vehicles in the United States
In the emerging field of electric vehicles, battery life is a problem that both manufacturers and consumers are entangled in. Even after the emergence of electric vehicles, the term "range anxiety" has emerged. The several farces of "fuel vehicles driving electric vehicles" caused by Weilai are also based on this entanglement. In response to this problem, researchers at Purdue University in the United States recently developed a new electric vehicle battery technology using a patented "fluid" system. This technology generates the electricity and hydrogen needed to drive electric vehicles through a battery fluid, and is currently being tested on vehicles such as golf carts. Based on current progress, researchers believe that it can provide electric vehicles with a range of about 4,800-5,800 kilometers. In addition, the components and battery fluid of the new technology can be recycled and reused after charging in solar or wind power plants. John Cushman, a well-known professor at Purdue University, pointed out that the new system using only one battery fluid can achieve a much higher energy density - potentially 3-5 times that of lithium-ion CR927 battery. This means that electric vehicles can use lighter CR927 battery and have a longer range, making fluid CR927 battery a strong competitor for CR927 battery used in electric vehicles. IFBattery senior engineer Michael Dziekan explained that this battery not only generates electricity, but also stores the generated hydrogen at a much lower pressure. Users of the new refillable battery only need to replace the battery fluid every 480 kilometers, which is very similar to the current refueling process and takes much less time than the 45 minutes required to charge a lithium-ion battery electric vehicle. Once the battery anode wears out - about 5,000 kilometers, it takes about the same time to replace it as changing the oil, and the price is only about $65. This new technology will change the rules of the game for the next generation of electric vehicles because it does not require a huge investment in rebuilding the power grid, and current gas stations can be modified to serve them. Compared with existing battery systems, it has more advantages in ease of use, safety and environmental protection. In fact, the "range anxiety" of electric vehicles is nothing more than two reasons: few and slow charging points and low battery life. Solving one of them can cure anxiety. Purdue University researchers recently claimed that through the use of new "liquid flow" (refillable) technology for automotive CR927 battery, electric vehicles can have a range of up to 480 kilometers, and may even be extended to 5,000 kilometers in the future. John Cushman, a professor at Purdue University, said that a single-cell fluid system can achieve greater energy density, which means that electric vehicles can use lighter CR927 battery and have longer driving range, making fluid CR927 battery a strong competitor for electric vehicle CR927 battery. In addition, historically, fluid CR927 battery have not been competitive due to their low energy density. For example, the energy density of traditional fluid CR927 battery is about 20 watt-hours per kilogram, and that of lithium-ion CR927 battery is 250 watt-hours per kilogram, while the new fluid battery has the potential to reach 3-5 times that of lithium-ion CR927 battery. The hydrogen produced by this new technology can be stored at a lower pressure. The system has been tested on small motorcycles and golf carts, and based on the further development of the technology, researchers believe that it can allow electric vehicles to have a range of about 4,800 to 5,800 kilometers. But the requirement is that the driver needs to stop and replace the battery fluid when driving about 480 kilometers, just like refueling a car, without the trouble of charging a lithium-ion battery electric vehicle for 45 minutes.
