Lithium batteries have many advantages, high energy density, stronger discharge capacity than dry batteries, nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride batteries, faster charging speed than nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride batteries, and no memory effect of nickel-cadmium batteries. Abandoned dry batteries and nickel-cadmium batteries will seriously pollute the environment. Using lithium batteries is a better choice in terms of economic benefits and environmental protection. The principle of our modification is to use the fact that electronic equipment has a certain voltage range, which will not cause the voltage to be too high or too low and make the electrical appliances unable to be used normally.

2. Methods/steps
1. Here we take the modification of equipment using No. 5 (AA) batteries as an example. The size of the No. 5 battery is 14 mm in diameter and 5 cm in length. We must first make a fake battery for the No. 5 battery (this can also be replaced by a fake battery with a lithium iron battery). Find the right material. Here, the aluminum rod is cut short to 47mm and then 14mm gaskets and screws are installed to form a fake battery for the conductor.
2. The red light pen uses one 14500 battery and one fake battery. It has been measured that lithium batteries have a smaller current than dry batteries and are more durable, so there is no need to replace batteries frequently. Bringing a 14500 battery does not take up space.
3. The light rate meter originally used 3 batteries with a rated voltage of 4.5V, so it is more appropriate to use 1 14500 battery (3.7-4.2V) + two fake batteries. The advantage of using fake batteries is that if there is no power, you can still use No. 5 batteries for emergency, but I usually prepare lithium batteries for emergency.
4. The flashlight is converted to lithium battery. It originally used 4 AA batteries, so two 14500 batteries should be selected. There is no need to use fake batteries here, but directly weld the two electrodes together, because the advantages of using lithium batteries are obvious and the recycling speed is fast. The battery recharged with dry batteries has a slow recharge speed and is not durable. It must be eliminated if the charging time is long.
5. For the production of chargers, you can use a universal lithium battery charger (can charge 14500, 18650, etc.). I modified it with a lithium battery charging board and a universal charging seat, because I didn't buy the materials because they were ready-made. In addition: mobile phone boards are all good lithium power sources, with protection boards to prevent overcharging and over-discharging.
5. Other lithium-powered perpetual calendars, razors, cameras, etc. Don't modify the alarm clock and mouse powered by a single No. 5 battery, as they may be damaged by high voltage.
3. Precautions
Remember that lithium batteries must use a special charger (limited to a single voltage of 4.2V), and do not overcharge or over-discharge (the minimum discharge voltage is 3.7V and must be charged immediately), otherwise it will shorten the life, and charging with a voltage exceeding 4.2v may even cause the risk of explosion.
