Low temperature can also cause lithium metal deposition to produce lithium dendrites, leading to problems such as internal short circuits and battery fires. Talga managing director Mark Thompson said, “Talnode-C allows lithium batteries to maintain performance in cold weather applications where traditional graphite anodes have difficulty or fail to perform. This is also evidence of the rapid development of Talga’s anode materials. It has potential in the growing lithium battery market." The product is currently being tested at an independent battery research institute in Japan.

In addition, Talga also revealed that its graphene silicon battery anode material called Talnode-Si can store about 70% more energy in lithium-ion batteries than anodes that only use graphite. Commercial samples have been sent to large international battery companies at the end of February.
Talga has also extended its business to cobalt mines, purchasing the Kiskama project in 2012, which is Sweden's largest cobalt deposit. In addition, Talga owns other high-grade copper, cobalt and gold projects in the early stages of exploration in northern Sweden.
