We call the battery whose electrode and electrolyte are solid state as solid state battery. The solid state battery cell does not contain liquid inside, which is not only safer, but also can realize series and parallel connection before assembly, reducing the packaging shell material, greatly simplifying the PACK design, which also improves the energy density of the battery after grouping.

Its structure is simpler than that of traditional lithium battery, and the solid electrolyte acts as the double functions of electrolyte and separator. There is no essential difference between cathode materials and traditional lithium batteries. The anode materials are lithium metal anode materials, carbon group anode materials and oxide anode materials. For solid state battery, the research and development of solid electrolyte is the most important. Its materials are various, mainly including oxides, sulfides, polymers and composite solid electrolytes.
