1. Safety hazards: Lithium-ion batteries are prone to battery diaphragm collapse and internal short circuits under internal and external factors such as overcharging, over-discharging, overheating and mechanical collision, leading to thermal runaway and safety problems; the electrolytes currently used in lithium-ion batteries are mostly flammable or combustible organic solvents, which adds the hidden danger of fire. Traditional safety firefighting measures often cannot effectively suppress the thermal runaway of lithium-ion batteries, which will cause the initial fire to spread rapidly and then evolve into a large-scale fire.
2. The development of policy standards and technical specifications lags behind: The lithium-ion battery energy storage industry is still in its incubation period, and policies will continue to be an important driving force for market development. At present, my country's relevant strategies and policies in this field are not sufficiently studied, and there is a lack of effective guiding policies and incentives, which is not conducive to the further expansion and strengthening of the lithium-ion battery energy storage industry; my country's technical standard formulation work for lithium-ion battery energy storage is still in its infancy, and only 1 national standard and 3 group standards have been announced.
3. The lag in technical standards has become an important problem affecting the standardized development of the industry, leading to problems such as overly simple design of energy storage projects, vague performance indicators, lack of inspection and testing, and great safety hazards. At present, there is no large-scale comprehensive inspection agency for the quality of energy storage lithium-ion battery products in the country. Some inspection items and parameter settings are distributed in more than ten inspection agencies across the country. Most of the quality and safety inspections of lithium-ion battery products for energy storage, especially high voltage, high current, explosion-proof and other tests, are still missing in China.
About the future development of the lithium-ion battery industry
① Establish a recycling system: Promote automobile production companies to accelerate the establishment of recycling channels for waste power batteries, publish information on recycling service outlets, and ensure that the extended producer responsibility system is fully implemented;
② Accelerate the implementation of traceability management: Unified coding of power batteries and carrying out traceability management throughout the life cycle are important means of recycling and utilization management of waste power batteries;
③ Improve the standard system: Support the formulation of relevant standards for industries, localities and groups;
④ Grasp the pilot demonstration: Through pilot demonstration, find problems and seek solutions.
my country's Renewable Resources Recycling Association proposed that under current technical and management conditions, relying on coding traceability is the most suitable way to ensure the full life cycle management of power lithium batteries. With the continuous improvement and maturity of the automotive power LR6 battery recycling system, the problems behind the coding system are expected to be solved to a certain extent.
